Meet the Moms behind Little Over the Top! 

We are two moms, Kirtana and Madhulika, who set out to solve a problem—finding safe, comfortable earrings for kids with sensitive ears.

Growing up, I (Kirtana) struggled with painful reactions to earrings, no matter the metal. Gold, silver—even so-called “hypoallergenic” options—would leave my ears irritated, inflamed, and infected. Things got really bad when my second and third piercings developed painful and ugly keloids that had to be surgically removed and I had to wear pressure earrings to avoid them from growing back for a whole year after!

Knowing that keloids and metal sensitivities are often hereditary, I knew I had to create a better earring experience for my daughter who is just two years old.

Madhulika, being our in house scientist, set out on a research journey to source the right metal for earrings that will allow moms like you and I to be worry-free but also create earrings that can be seen as a luxury product but at affordable prices. Move aside gold, we’ve got something better!
